Kurzbeschreibung: 

The Gakondo eV Association is committed to support the Banyamulenge community as below:

1. Empower 50 members of the Gakondo Association with essential knowledge and skills for the German labor market which are stable and high paying.
2. Provide orientation on vocational trainings based on their experience, job application techniques, and workplace culture in Germany.
3. Facilitate integration by connecting participants with local employers, job centers, and training institutions.
4. Build partnerships with local Organizations, foundations, and churches for mentorship and support.
5. Promote coexistence through intercultural training and exchange programs

Ausgangslage / Problem: 

The Gakondo Association is a registered organization composed of Congolese Banyamulenge community this include men, women, and youth living in Germany as Migrants. Fleeing violence and war in the Democratic Republic of Congo, these individuals now reside in Germany, seeking peace, safety, and a chance to rebuild their lives.
Despite the security Germany offers, members of the Banyamulenge community face significant barriers to access the labor market. These include language barriers, lack of knowledge about the German labor system, limited vocational qualifications, and minimal exposure to integration opportunities.
This project aims to address these issues through targeted training and orientation, helping our community members become economically independent and fully integrated into neighbourhood society by working and collaborating with neighbour’s

Economic Empowerment/ Social Integration/ Capacity Building
Provide with access to job training, employment opportunities, and entrepreneurial support also Enhance their self-sufficiency and reduce dependence on social welfare. Promote interaction between Migrants and Neighbourhood communities through neighbourhood-based work and volunteer opportunities. Encourage cultural exchange and community participation. Offer language courses, skills development, and vocational training tailored to the needs of the refugees. Support personal and professional growth to improve access to the labor market.
Mental Health and Well-being/ Advocacy and Representation
Provide psychosocial support and counseling services to help refugees cope with trauma, displacement, and integration stress. Encourage a sense of belonging and dignity through meaningful work. Strengthen the voice of Banyamulenge refugees in local decision-making processes. Foster community leadership and representation in public forums.
Sustainable Development
Align refugee empowerment with local development goals in Lower Saxony. Support sustainable livelihoods and environmentally conscious community projects.
